Patriarch Sfeir said after returning from Rome: If sectarianism is not removed from the souls before the texts then reservations will remain . The President is capable of reconciling rival leaders and we welcome the reconciliation of Aoun and Jumblatt.
Commenting on MP Walid Jumblatt’s suggestion to swap the presidency, premiership and speakership between the 3 sects, Sfeir said that the “Lebanese people are the only ones entitled to decide on such an issue. He added: “We will respond when it is seriously proposed.”
