Prof.Karam,Please give us some ideas how we can put pressure on the parties concerned so this serious issue gets attention, like the readership of YALIBNAN that have similar sentiment as you, since we live outside Lebanon few of the readership we do not have a clue. Thanks Raffi

G.Karam responds,

Raffi,
We must do all what we can to get the press to ask insightful questions and to have other members of the cabinet demand answers to these meaningful questions.
As of Sept 2009 almost half of the Lebanese national debt is external. In 1993 the external debt used to be under 10%.

Now that the problem is exposed Prof. Karam how you suggest to correct the situation, by giving some ideas to Minister Hassan, if she is deliberately avoiding the issue is deja vu Lebanese style, or should you invite the press corp and explain ,thus they go after the minister for tough questioning, or involve a watch dog agency or the presidency so the financial problems are corrected in a speedy manner. From what it looks all those years the politicians are never serious about solving this acute problem ,every thing is economics, so an intelligent and concerned official should make this a priority, a financially sound nation has so much power and prestige always and always.
