Lebanese army command announced that an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft violated Lebanese airspace on Sunday morning starting from above Naqoura, and headed north to the Bekaa and then south over the town of Kafr Shuba, before leaving
Another two Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace over the town of Aitaroun in the afternoon . They later headed north flying over Shekka , Beirut then south over the town of Kfar Kila before leaving Lebanese airspace the army said.
UN SCR 1701 prohibits any violations of airspace , but Israel has been violating Lebanese airspace continuously despite complaints by UNIFIL and the Lebanese government
Former Lebanese Foreign Minister Fares Bweiz said the talk about the cancellation of resolution 1559 is misplaced and legally does not make sense . In an interview with LBC he said : “Lebanon cannot annul UN security council resolutions” stressing that only the UN security council is empowered to take such an action. Bweiz said the resistance should reassure the Lebanese of the non-use of the domestic arena in regional conflicts .

Hamas announced that the funeral of its two members Basil Ahmed Jomaa 26 and Hassan Saeed Haddad 21 will be held tomorrow afternoon in Tyre’s Borj al-Shamali Palestinian refugee camp.Both were killed in an explosion Saturday evening in Haret Hraik , a Hezbollah stronghold south of Beirut
During a speech at the annual Christmas dinner held by Lebanese Forces in Bcharri, LF’s leader Samir Geagea said: “I assure you today that I’m striving with all my effort, energy, and concentration so that war doesn’t return to Lebanon. If you ask me about the things I’m longing to, I will answer: ‘No-return’ to war as the most important.”
Geagea stressed that his top priority is working on preventing the return to civil war in Lebanon
“Generations after generations will be proud of what we are achieving today of valor,” Geagea said.

Lebanon’s Hamas chief , Ousama Hamdan confirmed during a press conference that the movement’s members Basil Ahmed Jomaa 26 and Hassan Saeed Haddad 21, were killed on Saturday night in the bombing that targeted one of Hamas’ headquarters in Beirut Southern Suburbs.
Hamdan refused to accuse any party of killing its officials in the Haret Hraik explosion and called for waiting for investigation results before jumping to conclusions. He added: The movement does take into consideration that “Israel tracks its officials.”
Hamdan identified Jomaa as a security official and Haddad as a Hamas political representative.
Haret Hraik is a Hezbollah stronghold., Both Hezbollah and Hamas are backed by Iran. The explosion has reportedly occurred when Hezbollah security forces tried to dismantle the (15 KG TNT )bombs
Lebanese Military Judge Rahif Ramadan and the concerned security services examined Haret Hraik’s explosion site, according to state-run National News Agency NNA.
Lebanon’s Information Minister Tarek Mitri told Voice of Lebanon radio station on Sunday, that the Lebanese security forces failed to carry out their most basic duties during the Haret Hraik explosion because they were not allowed near the scene of the incident by Hezbollah security forces “.

A South Korean group led by Korea Power Electric Corp. won a $20 billion contract to build four nuclear plants in the United Arab Emirates, the second-biggest Arab economy.
Korea Power, a state-run utility that supplies almost all the power in South Korea also known as KEPCO, won the U.A.E.’s first nuclear power plant order together with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Samsung C&T Corp. and Westinghouse Electric Co., it said in a statement today.
“The KEPCO team is best equipped to fulfill the government’s partnership requirements in this ambitious program,” Khaldoon Khalifa al-Mubarak, chairman of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corp., or ENEC, said in a separate statement. “The nature of this project will require a partnership that endures for nearly 100 years.” Source: Bloomberg
