mr geagea is accurately describing the abnormal situation in lebanon: "No state can co-exist with a revolution" but what he is attempting to do with the rest of the 14th of march folks to remedy this situation is nothing but a waste of time.

the first step mr geagea should take would be to recognize that the present weak lebanese government with young hariri presiding and its army dont see eye to eye with him about the problems he is talking about.
they are indeed and unfortunately, coexisting with the hezb and the palestinian armed factions at a very high price in terms of decision making and sovereignty.

geagea ought to say : "No STRONG state can co-exist with a revolution". since all the armed entities that have weapons outside the control of the state either in Palestinian camps or in bases outside the shantytowns or with Hezbollah keep increasing their arsenal indefinitely, WE WILL NEVER HAVE A STRONG STATE IN LEBANON.

the equation is very simple it reads like this:
a)strong state = weak presence of military groups (lebanese or others).
b)weak state = strong presence of military groups.(hezballah and cos. favorite option)

the second advice to geagea and the 14th of march folks: stop contradicting yourselves.
a weak ago mr gemayel the elder declared his refusal to engage in the "politics of axes" then few days later on the 14th of march the representatives of the 14th of march movement declared they want the arab league of nations to be involved in the national dialogue conference at baabda!!!

both statements are worthless.
the first suppose the presence of political axes confronting each other which is not true.
the only axe worth talking about is the iranian- syrian- hezballah axe facing a bunch of inexperienced defenseless local politicians that thought, since the start of the cedar revolution, that the whole world was behind them and found out they were all alone.

the second blunder was to ask the league of arab nations to get involved in the baabda conference as if till now they did not discover how ineffecient the arabs are in solving disputes among themselves.
my final advice to the 14th of march folks is to get some serious backing some where in the world and form a serious world coalition to save lebanon or what is left of it so you could negotisate with the other side on equal basis. otherwise dont ridicule your selves anymore, please stay at home for god's sake and forget about governing this country.

also, true say. coming across the topic of hezballah still holding on to their weapons is understandable, but the palestinian!? do they think this country is theirs? NOWAY!!
lets be clear about this and TRY to think of it logically.. no stronger army, no handing over of weapons, we can consider hezballah a resistance, THATS A GOOD THING FOR LEBANON, NOT A BAD 1.. hopefully this will change, its soon to be where hezballah and the army ACTUALLY get together, because they DO co-operate believe it or not.

I completely agree with you Fadi. The question is when our Shiaa brothers in Hizbullah and Amal will understand this and give their weapons to the Army? Ironically, the Shiaa throughout history were the first ones to ask ONLY for the army and the police to take control of security...

I am dreaming of a Lebanon free of any militias and armed groups other than the ARMY. What a wonderful thing that would be?!

As for the Palestinians, what is the government waiting to control the camps and preventing all the other training camps they have in the Bekaa and Naameh? May be the new weapons from Russia and the US will help in controlling this time another camp: Ain El-Helwe, a camp for terrorist, illegals, extremists, and all sorts of out-laws. These Palestinians don't learn from the past, they need to be controlled with an IRON FIST, and if they don't like it, let them LEAVE the country.
