
An exoplanet has been observed 1,500 light years from Earth that is similar in temperature with those in our own solar system. The planet, named CoRoT-9b is unique so far to our current understanding of exoplanets goes, and according to Dr Hans Deeg one of the astronomers in Tenerife who verified the discovery, it will remain an object of reference for at least the next ten years. During a phone interview with MTV network on Thursday Lebanon’s Defense Minister Elias Murr stressed that “the stances of President Michel Suleiman have salvaged Lebanon and put it back on the international map,” rejecting “any attempt at separating between the president and the presidency position.”

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Thursday, following his meeting with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, that peace in the Middle East was impossible because of the actions of the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu’s government “cannot be considered a partner as long as it responds to calls for peace with settlements and the judaization of [Muslim] holy sites” in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, Assad said. (more…)
