All areas in lebanon suffer from power rationing ( some more some less)not only hezbollah controlled areas but they pay. We cant solve this problem if we still evading the problem and finding excuses for not paying.

It's clear why so many people, especially people in ''Hezballah controlled areas'', don't pay their bills.. BECAUSE THEY HARDLY RECIEVE ANY POWER!!

The souther suburbs is literally OFF most of the day, and people have no other choice but to either buy generators or make the scene look worse by connecting lines from pole to pole and building to building, and stealing the power.

There should be a quick and fast solution to this CRISIS the Lebanese have been living in for decades.. it actually is sickening to live half the day IF NOT MORE with no internet.. street lights, net connection, fridges, TV's etc IS JUST OFF!

Corruption plays an important role in this situation, and hopefully the 'points' of which Basil has made ready actually get everything sorted and working, atleast more hours than now..

Yes i agree with you but that doesn't that one sector of Lebanon should not pay its bills. Most of lebanon is frankly lower middle class or poor. The gov't is tough on them to pay their bills. The gov't in all its forms from long time is corrupt and inept. i am not blaming here one group for the problems. if it did its fair work meaning the gov't then we would have better living. But again just because hezbollah is powerful that doesn't give you the right to skip paying for utilities that could help the govt enhance/help in other areas. People say you're not appreciating what hezbollah has sacrified. well i do but when you attack me, squeeze my economy and jump on me every time i attack the syrian. Do you really expect me to be quiet? when you kill March14 th leaders and accuse israel of it. when people pointing fingers back at you and have proof of it. then you fight back as if you're innocent and threaten to create havoc on lebanon and the world. then i say your sacrifies getting lost with all your recents acts sorry but the facts tells me you're not sacrificing for my sake or basically lebanon sake. its more like your sake and your security and your higher goals into marginalizing lebanon and taking powers. anyone else sides with that to me is a coward especially those christians who are following Aoun and nasrrallah. i do not care about March 14 christians myself frankly i consider them weakling.

Nothing is wrong with people paying their bills, but something is seriously wrong when your govt cant or wont take care of your basic needs. In any other country, there would have been a full civil uprising on the extent of corruption and thievery in these past few govts. And I don't think your up to date on any of the compensation issues to date. I am not defending a certain party over another, but don't lay the blame on one side when all the other sides are in the wrong too.

when you're in control they you get the blame when things go wrong. what's wrong with asking and forcing people in dahia to pay their electric bills. Why do you people always twist facts? why can't hezbollah pay their dues like everybody else? Many shiites who do not belong to hezbollah barely got compensated after Nassralah promised to pay for it. There are thiefs just like everybody else in the govt yes. There is nothing sacred about them because they deal drugs and terrorize people. just stick to israel if you want to call yourself resistance.

Its laughable how some always blame hizbollah for all of Lebanon's woes, as if Lebanon didn't have any problems prior to Hizbollah. Lebanese citizens have every right not to pay a cheating and robbing govt for any services. Our govt has always taken care of the big cats and never thought twice about the regular people. Why pay these greedy warlords to line their pockets when Lebanese citizens don't even have their basic needs met. Fix the govt, fix social welfare, fix the administration and have laws apply to all people equally and then collect your taxes and bills.

Yes Michael it would be nice if the gov't dares to collect from lazy ass loafers in Dahia who have not paid a lira in their lives since they're hiding behind the resistance. Yes the resistance because it liberated South Lebanon it gets away with so much. Kill hariri and kill anyone who stands in their way. Step on everyone and don't pay electricity. Sorry its touchy subject but if they can buy weapons they can pay electricity. Yes we need to protect ourselves from israel but no thanks i don't need lebanon to be demolished every 4 to 5 yrs because they want to liberate farms that don't belong to us. Why not liberate Bekaa valley from Syria. Why not liberate lebanon first from Armed Palestinians groups/Fatah al islam/AL Qaada. Israel is a threat and so is Syria and all these armed groups. You liberate the inside and we're all with you. you stand with them then you're one sided resistance as you call yourself. I dare Basil to ask Hezbollah to pay for electricity or overdue bills..

The solution is simple: every user should pay the bill with no exception. Is this magic? Does this need sophisticated mathematic? It has to be clear once and for all: as long as there is a portion of the population using and not paying, we will have this problem. This fact is true in any place in the world. As long as the government is not able to collect the bills is some parts of lebanon, we will have this problem.

To fix the electricity in Lebanon requires the same thing needed to fix all things in Lebanon: TEAMWORK. Unfortunately Lebanese have everything except for this important trait. Until we learn to work together we will continue to live in the dark, literally.
