Following its weekly meeting on Tuesday, the Future bloc issued a statement calling for strong, balanced Lebanese-Syrian relations, based on cooperation and mutual respect.

Lebanon should enhance ties with Syria, said the bloc, adding that both countries have similar interests.

Hostile
The statement commented on Israel’s recent reports that Syria is supplying Hezbollah with Scud missiles, saying Tel Aviv’s goal is to create divisions between the Lebanese to serve its “hostile” interests.
National unity and awareness are essential in facing any possible Israeli aggression, the statement said.
