Polling stations closed in Mount Lebanon. Interior minister said Jbeil district recorded the highest vote turnout of 65, while in all of Mount Lebanon the voter turnout was about 50 %. Jebeil was dubbed as the battle of 2 generals , in reference to general Michel aoun and general Michel Suleiman , president of Lebanon.

In this first round of the country’s municipal elections, 313 municipalities are up for grabs in Mount Lebanon.
The interior minister said that compared to problems in past elections, Sunday’s problems were small.
