Adrian…The US just approved another 200 million to the Zoinest state on top of the 3.5 billion a year they give them for new weapons upgrade every year! And your worried about what Syria “might” give hezbollah to protect YOUR COUNTRY??!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS! I seriously dont understand how the FEW like you think! The Lebanese army cant get these weapons (By US mandate law check it if you dont believe me)So you and the rest of the FEW that think like you would rather have a weak defensless country! WAKE UP DUDE!

You see we need the lebanese Goverment to protect the country not one side.

The lebanese army can get the weapons needed as syria can get them. Lebanon is less rejected internationally than syria. The problem is that some part of the lebaneses is afraid of a strong lebanese army.

I just wish the Lebanese Army was given these weapons instead of Syria. God knows our army could do with newer more advanced weapons. All we are given is old out dated weapons. Having said that though, without ragging on Russsia too much, being Russian made means they’ll probably not work very well anyway.

The LAF proved they are up to the task by fighting a guerilla war at Naher el Bared and defeating an organization that could have easily brought havoc to any nation’s armed forces. We have some fine men that are willing to sacrifice everything for the country. Alas, our army like our govt is not unified and strong in the face of foreign intervention. We need an army like Turkey’s; purely secular, with no political intervention. An army that cannot be swayed, an army that can protect the country from both internal and external enemies. A strong, secular army is our only chance in Lebanon!

You’re right Jeff, We should all be very proud of the men & women in the LDF but it doesn’t change the fact that our army is not adequately equiped with up to date weapons. I just wish we were allowed to purchase newer weapons to better defend ourselves from our aggressive neighbours.

Sam this is my point exactly what is this system they will be getting in the face of what America is providing,
whats the point of slapping an opponent knowing your going to get that thousand slaps in return.

to win this war against israel, we have to win the hearts of forigners and showing them for once that we are the victims not the aggressors.
We have to use the same tactics in politics as they do not fall into this trap that russian officials and israel officials have colluded together to play.
Please look at the bigger picture Sam, there is more to it then meets the eye.

Just like history has shown time and time again when a people and race beileve in them selves and begin doing for themselves they can accomplish anything. America were I live is a prefect example of a rag tag colonial militia that was able to beat the most imminent superpower of its day (with the help of France similar to what Syria is to us today) and transformed itself into todays superpower…LEBANON WONT LIVE ON ITS KNEES WE WILL STAND FIGHT AND WIN! thats because warlaord run the country and a strong army can overthrow a government and hold power as a junta if they wanted. so they keep the army weak…. its more a police force. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO THE SOLDIER THAT DIED AND WERE INJURED (MY BROTHER INLAW BEING ONE OF THE INJURED )IN NAHER-ALBARED IT TOOK 4 MONTHS TO FINISH A JOB THAT WOULD TAKE 1 U.S BATALION TO FINISH IN 4 WEEKS. NO AIR COVER, NO GPS FOR ARTILARY, AMO RAN OUT IN 72 HOURS. THEY ONLY HAVE 3 TO 4 DAYS FIGHTING AMO AND FULE FOR THE ENTIRE ARMY IN THE COUNTRY SO IF THEY DO TAKE OVER THEY CANT HOLD AGAINST THE MILITAS.
