Facebook hits milestone: Half a billion users

The social networking site snagged its 500 millionth user this morning, according to Facebook Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who announced the news in a blog post. The Web 2.0 phenom had been waiting expectantly to hit the milestone and is commemorating the achievement by showcasing a series of user stories about how Facebook has affected people’s lives. Lebanon to complain to UN over Israeli spy rings

The Lebanese Cabinet on Wednesday unanimously approved a proposal to file a complaint with the U.N. Security Council against Israel over the issue of spy rings.

Murr: UK supports Lebanon & Army

Defense Minister Elias Murr, who is currently in the UK on an official visit said Wednesday after meeting his British counterpart in London that he received U.K.’s support for Lebanon and its army.

Murr said he discussed with British Defense Secretary Liam Fox ways to boost ties between the two countries and strengthen the Lebanese army’s capabilities.
