Jumblatt, Nasrallah met to discuss STL, Telecom spies


Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah met with Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt who was accompanied by Ministers Ghazi Aridi and Akram Shehayeb to discuss current developments , according to a statement issued by Hezbollah.

Geagea:Aoun will be held responsible for any violence in Christian areas

During an interview with MTV on Tuesday , Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea warned Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun that he will be ” held responsible for any acts of violence that may be waged against any Christian area.”

Geagea’s comment comes after As-Safir newspaper’s report in which it said that Aoun had advised Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah “to change the rules of the game.” (more…)

Gulf Air 042 makes an emergency landing at Beirut airport

A Gulf Air plane carrying made an emergency landing late Tuesday evening at the Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport after the glass of the right window of the cockpit was shattered.

The captain of the plane, which was en route from Athens to Bahrain, asked the Beirut airport control tower for permission to make an emergency landing (more…)

Women’s Gaza aid ship being loaded in Tripoli

The flotilla aid ship Julia which is planning a blockade-busting trip to Gaza is currently docked at the port in the northern city of Tripoli, Lebanon.

Al Manar TV: STL chief of public affairs resigned

Hezbollah’s al Manar TV reported that Peter Foster, the Special Tribunal of Lebanon chief of public affairs and outreach has resigned last week.

Ya Libnan could not confirm Al Manar’s report and Al Manar did not reveal its sources.

STL has come under attack recently by Hezbollah and its allies in Lebanon. (more…)

Hariri’s assassination to be reenacted in France

The assassination of Lebanon’s former prime minster Rafik Hariri will be reenacted at a military base in the French city of Bordeaux next fall according to report by French daily Le Figaro

Security sources told the French daily that the enactment is aimed at allowing international investigators to compare the explosion sound waves, the crater and the amount of explosives in the Mitsubishi van with those of the crime scene. (more…)

Lebanon speaker rules out posibility of war

Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri who is attending the World Conference of Parliament Speakers in Geneva ruled out on Tuesday the possibility of a war breaking out in Lebanon.

“There is nothing to worry about,” Berri said, calling on the cabinet to focus on managing the economic and social needs of the people. (more…)

3 killed in 2 traffic accidents in Lebanon

According National News Agency, one person was killed and several others were injured on Tuesday near the Masnaa border checkpoint in eastern Lebanon when a truck rammed into a van carrying a Saudi Arabian family . (more…)
