Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television quoted on Monday a “well-informed” source as saying that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Lebanon is set for August 3.
It quoted the unnamed source as saying that Saudi Arabia was hoping Assad will accompany Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz on his visit to Beirut, which according to media reports, is scheduled to take place on Friday July 30. (more…)

Six Israeli soldiers and one Romanian were killed Monday when an Israeli military transport helicopter CH-53 crashed in central Romania, local media said, quoting defense sources.

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri was reelected on Sunday as the head of the Future Movement.
Future Movement parliamentary bloc leader and former PM Fouad Siniora declared the victory of Hariri at the Future Movement founding conference that was held at Biel Exhibition Center in downtown Beirut.
