Sayyed:Groups other than Hezbollah are being armed

During an interview with LBC TV on Friday , State Minister Adnan as-Sayyed Hussein said that groups other than Hezbollah, some of which are fundamentalists, are being armed.

Israel ‘very afraid’ of Hezbollah, says Iran speaker

Iranian parliamentary speaker was quoted by Hezbollah’s news agency al-Manar that the Israeli government is “very afraid” of militants with Hezbollah following the July 2006 conflict.

“There is no doubt that Israelis are very afraid from Hezbollah’s strength and its capabilities,” he said. (more…)

Israeli army to rehearse war with Lebanon, says Report

The Israeli army said it would stage a drill as part of intensive preparations for a potential war with Hezbollah and Syria, Israeli daily The Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.

The army is reportedly preparing for missile attacks on main roads and bases, and anticipates villages in southern Lebanon will be the main battleground, the report said. (more…)

Report: Israel will return 3 Turkish Gaza flotilla ships


Israel will return three Turkish ships that were part of an aid flotilla for Gaza and attacked by Israeli troops in May, Israeli public radio has reported.

Turkey had already been informed of the decision by the inner cabinet in Jerusalem, the report said. (more…)

Gemayel: We will not allow Hezbollah to destroy Lebanon


During an interview with MTV MP Nadim Gemayel, son of the slain president Bashir Gemayel said that he will not allow Hezbollah to destroy Lebanon like it did in 2006 and and 2008.

MP Zahra:LF will not accept unfair ruling by STL


During an interview with LBC TV on Friday, Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra said that his party would not accept an unfair ruling against any Lebanese faction, in reference to the latest media reports that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) would indict Hezbollah members in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Israel urges Lebanon to block ships for Gaza

Israel is urging Lebanon and the international community to prevent two ships from sailing to Gaza from a Lebanese port to break Israel’s blockade of the Hamas-ruled Palestinian territory. It warned that the vessels will be stopped. (more…)

Venezuela severs ties with Colombia

President Hugo Chavez severed Venezuela’s diplomatic relations with Colombia on Thursday over claims he harbors guerrillas, and he warned that his neighbor’s leader could attempt to provoke a war.

Chavez said he was forced to break off all relations because Colombian officials claim he has failed to act against leftist rebels who allegedly have taken shelter in Venezuelan territory. (more…)
