Ad-Diyar: Jumblatt to vote in favor of funding STL

Ad-Diyar newspaper reported on Thursday that Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt will vote in favor of financing the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).

Ahmadinejad views south Lebanon as Iran’s border with Israel, report


Iran’s ambassador Ghazanfar Roknabadi has reportedly said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to Lebanon is aimed at strengthening the Lebanese unity and consensus on the Resistance.

Roknabadi said he backs the ( controversial ) equation of “army-Resistance-people.” and said we should also add the ‘Government ‘ to it. (more…)

Berri: No obstacles over false witnesses issue

An-Nahar newspaper quoted on Thursday Speaker Nabih Berri as saying that there are no obstacles regarding the issue of the false witnesses, stressing that Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar will submit a report on false witnesses at the first Cabinet meeting to convene under President Michel Suleiman upon his return from Mexico. Allawi urges Syria to press Iran not to mess with Iraq

For the first time, astronomers have detected a rocky planet in another solar system that has the most basic and essential conditions needed to support extraterrestrial life.

Syrian FM warns of strife if Hezbollah indicted by STL

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) has been “politicized,” and warned that accusing Hezbollah of former PM Rafik Hariri’s murder will plunge Lebanon into a new round of sectarian violence.

Damascus has “received word that members of Hezbollah were soon to be formally charged with the assassination,” Muallem said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal from New York. (more…)

Wahab calls for overthrowing the government

Former minister Wiam Wahab called on the March 8 coalition ministers to resign and overthrow the government as soon as possible because the government cannot continue to work in the current situation, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Tuesday.

Wahab, a staunch ally of Syria made the statement following his meeting with former President Emile Lahoud. (more…)
