Iranian embassy says Iran never benefitted from Israeli weapons

The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon issued a statement on Wednesday denying that Iran benefited from Israeli weapons in the past, adding that such false allegations aim to distort Iran’s image.

Siddiq: Syrian documents prove Hezbollah’s involvement in Harir’s murder

Mohammad Zuhair al-Siddiq – a Syrian agent who branded in 2005 as the “King Witness” and who allegedly misled the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) probe into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri – said in an interview with Kuwaiti newspaper As-Seyassah published on Wednesday, that the late Syrian Interior Minister Ghazi Kanaan gave him documents that prove Hezbollah was involved in Hariri’s murder. Berri: Internal disputes will eventually be resolved

Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri  was quoted on Wednesday by An-Nahar newspaper as saying that the Saudi-Syrian rapprochement to ensure stability in Lebanon was not harmed, adding that all disputes between political parties will eventually be resolved. (more…)

Sayyed wants to sue the state at a Human Rights court


Former head of Lebanon’s General Security Directorate Maj. Gen. Jamil Sayyed is reportedly looking for a human rights court to sue the Lebanese State.

Sayyed , along with 3 other generals was detained from 2005 to 2009 on suspicion of involvement in Rafik Hariri’s murder. (more…)

Envelopes with white powder found at 3 embassies in Israel

Police, firefighters and hazmat (hazardous materials) teams were called to the American Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel Tuesday afternoon after officials found an envelope containing unidentified white powder, and a threatening letter with a swastika drawn on it. (more…)

Kuwait moves to calm Sunni-Shiite tension

The Kuwaiti government vowed on Tuesday to take legal measures to curb growing sectarian tensions between Sunni and Shiite Muslims following inflammatory remarks made by a Shiite activist in self-imposed exile.

Iran frees American woman on $500k bail

An American woman released by Iran on Tuesday after more than a year in prison flew out of the country to the nearby Gulf nation of Oman to be reunited with her mother after a $500,000 bail was paid to win her freedom.
