Zoghbi:Hezbollah should face STL, not Lebanon

“If Hezbollah thinks that it is victimized and targeted, it should face the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) and not the Lebanese government and its institutions”, March 14 alliance member Elias al-Zoghbi said on Tuesday according to the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Tension escalated in Lebanon after reports said that the STL will soon issue its indictment into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. (more…)

US warns Syria against destabilizing Lebanon, Iraq

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned Syria on Monday against taking destabilizing measures in either Iraq or Lebanon, during talks with her Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem in New York.

UN Envoy: Calm, stability restored to Blue Line

Jumblatt calls for calm political rhetoric

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt said on Monday after holding talks at the Grand Serail with Prime Minister Saad Hariri that
calm political rhetoric will allow the Lebanese to reach all political and developmental solutions.

Assad calls Hariri to assure him of Syria’s support, report
