As-Safir newspaper based on an unnamed source reported that the Lebanese-Syrian summit has been postponed until after President Michel Suleiman returns from his Switzerland trip where he will attend the 2010 Francophonie summit in Switzerland , to be held from October 22 -24.

“There is ongoing communication between Suleiman and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad,” the As-Safir added.

According to various reports, Suleiman called Saudi officials and Assad to voice his willingness to visit their countries “in a bid to foster calm in Lebanon.”
