Russia to supply Lebanon with tanks and cannons, report

Sources close to the ministerial delegation accompanying Prime Minister Saad Hariri during his visit to Russia reported that Russia has decided to supply Lebanon with over 30 T-72 tanks and 122 Howitzer cannons. (more…)

Aoun, Sarkozy met in Paris

The leader of the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) Michel Aoun who arrived arrived Sunday in France held talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday.

Aoun traveled on the same flight to Paris as MP Walid Jumblatt and the two sat next to each other, according to local reports. (more…)

French Cabinet reshuffle puts conservatives at top

French President Nicolas Sarkozy appointed a new government Sunday in a marathon weekend reshuffle with faithful allies taking top posts clearly aimed at pleasing his conservative ranks before 2012 presidential elections.

Fireworks cause 2 huge fires in Lebanon

A huge fire erupted in the town of Shouifat , just south of Beirut and has caused substantial damage to the wooded area of the town. The fire was reportedly caused by fireworks and has approached the residential area of the town. The town has appealed for help to extinguish the fire. The Lebanese army has reportedly joined the civil defense to try to extinguish the fire (more…)

Siniora is the new target of Hezbollah attacks

Former Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad siniora is the new target of attacks by Hezbollah led March 8 alliance.

This comes after Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah accused Siniora and his cabinet of trying to prolong the 2006 July War, during his televised speech last Thursday. (more…)
