Lebanon army receives 155 mm howitzers from US

UNIFIL hosts LAF-IDF talks over Israeli withdrawal from Ghajar

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, or UNIFIL hosted a meeting for the representatives of the Lebanese and Israeli armies (LAF, IDF) at its base in Naqoura on Monday morning, National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Hariri meets Khamenei in pictures

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri met with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday.

According to the PM’s office Khamenei urged the visiting Lebanese premier to “consolidate relations” with Hezbollah.

Hariri to head again to Iran within 2 months

Sources close to PM Saad Hariri have revealed to al Mustaqbal newspaper that the PM will be visiting Iran again within two months to chair the higher Lebanese Iranian joint committee to finalize the agreements reached during the October visit to Lebanon by Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad . Al-Qaeda claims attack on Shiites in Yemen

AL-QAEDA’S regional wing has claimed responsibility for a car bombing that killed at least 23 Shiites in northern Yemen and threatened more attacks, according to a statement posted on the Internet on Sunday.

‘The mujahideen … decided to begin with this martyrdom-seeking operation in defence of the honour of our Prophet Mohammad … and in defence of our Sunni brothers,’ Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said in the statement posted on Islamic websites. (more…)

Nasrallah: STL evidence is worthless

Hezbollah leader sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says evidence held by U.N. investigators implicating the group in the death of a former Lebanese prime minister is worthless.
