Lebanon establishes a hot line for Lebanese in Egypt

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday that Lebanese citizens in Egypt can call 0020169860640 if they are in need of assistance.

The ministry added in a statement that it contacted Middle East Airlines to provide additional airplanes to evacuate the Lebanese citizens who asked to be taken out of Egypt.

Resigned Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Shami requested that Lebanese Ambassador to Egypt Khaled Ziadeh keep him updated on the situation of Lebanese citizens in Egypt amid the current developments, according to a statement issued by Shami’s press office on Saturday.

Mass demonstrations calling for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s resignation have rocked Egypt for the past five days.

The first Middle East Airlines (MEA) plane carrying 170 Lebanese nationals who were evacuated from Egypt arrived in Beirut about 5 pm local time on Sunday

Middle East Airlines said it will send two additional planes to Cairo on Sunday to fly home Lebanese nationals.

lebanon needs to establish a hotline number for lebaneese in lebanon first before you act in egypt this got to be a joke

before you issue this funny hot line number in egypt respect yourself first and earn your sovreignity and disarm all gangs and militias and become a true democracy and funtioniing country first 2 millions lebaneese people should march all over the country protest should not stop until all group disarm there shall be one army one nation one governement democratic and no one else should have the right to bear arms except the state or the people should not leave the street until those demand are met
