Libya’s rebel get $177 million from Kuwait

Kuwait will contribute 50 million Kuwaiti dinars ($177.2 million) to Libya’s rebel council, a rebel leader said on Sunday.

Ebadi: If Syria becomes democratic, Iran will lose its puppet

Iranian Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi voiced hope on Saturday over the mass protests in Syria, saying that the fall of Tehran’s main Arab ally would send a powerful signal to the Islamic regime.

Thousands of protesters demand “A New Morocco”


Thousands took to the streets of Morocco on Sunday in peaceful demonstrations to demand sweeping reforms and an end to political detention, the third day of mass protests since they began in February.

Rebels push Gaddafi’s forces out of Misurata

Libyan rebel fighters in Misurata have driven forces loyal to Colonel Muammer Gaddafi out of the beleaguered coastal city, but are still being shelled despite the regime’s claims that it has withdrawn its troops from the area. (more…)

Syrian Revolution: 3 killed , several wounded in Jablet

The Facebook group, The Syrian Revolution 2011, which boasts more than 140,000 followers and which has emerged as the organizing force behind the demonstrations that have been demanding “freedom” in Syria has reported that three protester were killed on Sunday in the town of Jablet and several were wounded. Syrian Regime rounds up opponents

Syrian Security forces raided homes across Syria and arrested opponents of the regime yesterday, activists said, as more funerals were planned for people killed in a bloody crackdown on protests.

Meanwhile, students called for action and two MPs resigned after at least 13 mourners were shot dead on Saturday during funerals (more…)
