Siniora: Lebanon is Better off if Aoun books himself one way ticket

Former Lebanese Prime Minister and current Future Movement parliamentary bloc leader MP Fouad Siniora responded to Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun’s statement that “he booked a one-way ticket for former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.”

Hezbollah shocked over number of Israeli spies within its ranks


The Kuwait newspaper al Rai published a report on Sunday in which it stated that the intelligence war between Hezbollah and Israel has revealed shocking discoveries for the party’s leadership. The big shock for Hezbollah was the number and the quality of those spying for Israel within its ranks. (more…)

Arab league worried about the crisis in Syria

Outgoing Arab League chief Amr Mussa said on Saturday the Arab world was worried about events in Syria, where President Bashar al-Assad’s regime is pursuing a deadly crackdown on anti-government protests.

“There is a worry in the Arab world and in the region concerning the events in Syria,” Mussa told reporters after a meeting in the Egyptian capital focusing on events in Libya. (more…)

Turkey wants Assad to fire his brother from military

A Turkish envoy will travel to Damascus in the coming days to bring a “warning letter” to Syrian President Bashar Assad, telling him to enact reforms and to remove his brother Maher Assad from the command of Syria’s Republican Guard and the Fourth Armored Division, Al-Arabiya reported on Saturday. Cautious calm returns to Tripoli following Friday’s deadly clashes

Cautious calm was restored in Tripoli LBC television reported on Saturday , adding that one of those injured during Friday’s clashes died today.

Shops are closed in the area of clashes, and the Lebanese army is heavily deployed, the report added. (more…)

Abou Faour reconciles 2 families over death in a traffic accident


Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour and Sheikhs of Rashaya villages sponsored a reconciliation between 2 families one from Rashaya and another Souweiri over a traffic accident which resulted in the death of Souweiri resident Sahar Youssef Amer ( 12, female ). She was in a vehicle that collided with a van driven by Riad Olbat from Rashaya . (more…)

Hezbollah members detained for collaborating with Israel, report

NOW Lebanon reported that an unnamed Hezbollah source told its correspondent on Saturday that a “group of Hezbollah members were detained in the past few days for collaborating with Israel.”

Aoun: We won’t support Mikati if he is ‘vengeful’

MP Elie Aoun , a member of the National Front Struggle which is headed by MP Walid Jumblatt told Free Lebanon radio station on Saturday that he will not support Prime Minister Najib Mikati if he wants to deal in a “vengeful” manner.

Lebanon Interior minister: ISF doesn’ distribute arms it confiscates them

Arab Democratic Party political relations official Refaat Eid told Al-Manar television on Friday that the Internal Security Forces (ISF) Information Branch is “distributing weapons” and is in the “middle of a conspiracy in Lebanon or Syria.” (more…)
