The personal bodyguard of former minister Wiam Wahhab has been charged by Judge Saq Saqr of the Lebanese military court with collaborating with Israel, including participating directly and indirectly in assassinations against Hezbollah fighters according to report on Thursday by al-Akhbar newspaper. Two Dutch diplomats abducted in Lebanon, freed in Syria


The Dutch embassy in Beirut said Thursday that two Dutch diplomats ( and not one as initial reports indicated ) were kidnapped last month in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley and handed over to Syrian authorities across the border, who freed them after discovering their identity and the way they were brought into Syria. No word on whereabouts of missing Syrian opposition leader


The Lebanese security authorities announced Wednesday that they were still searching for the 86 years old Shibli al-Ayssami, one of the original co-founders of the Syrian Baath Party. Ayssami is considered a veteran of the Syrian opposition. (more…)
