Aoun: U.S. aid to Lebanon is ineffective

Hezbollah MP calls for severing Cooperation with STL

Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc leader MP Mohammed Raad called on Tuesday for ending Lebanon’s cooperation with the UN-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), which is probing former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s 2005 assassination.

Lebanon needs more tourists

According to a report by Al Mustaqbal Newspaper the number of tourists has dropped dramatically since a year ago. The total number of tourists in June was 177, 915 which represents 23.05 % drop from June 2010 when the total number was 231, 212 . (more…)

More Syrian protesters killed in apparent sectarian violence

Cabinet appoints Abbas Ibrahim as Lebanon security chief

As expected the cabinet on Monday approved the appointment of deputy military intelligence chief Brig.-Gen. Abbas Ibrahim as the new director-general of the General Security Department. Ibrahim was also promoted to the rank of Major General to qualify for the appointment. (more…)

UN envoy to address Lebanon’s Demarcation of Maritime borders


U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Michael Williams announced on Monday following talks with Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour that he will address the issue of Lebanon’s demarcation of its maritime border at the United Nations on Thursday.
