Hezbollah official calls Time interview a “fabrication”

Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan, a key Hezbollah official said in an interview with Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas published on Tuesday that the TIME magazine interview with one of the people indicted by the UN-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri is a “fabrication.” (more…)

Libya’s rebels are declaring the ‘Gaddafi era’ over after taking control of most of Tripoli as US President Barack Obama called for ‘an inclusive transition’ in the war-torn country.

Obama pressed Libya’s veteran strongman Muammar Gaddafi, who has refused to surrender, to ‘explicitly’ give up power and warned exuberant rebels that their struggles were ‘not over yet.’ (more…)

Gaddafi’s son leads regime fightback

Moamar Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam has led a defiant regime fightback in Tripoli, as rebels claimed NATO jets had joined the fight for the Libyan capital.

Gaddafi’s end lesson to region’s leaders: Turkey


Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is to travel to the Libyan rebel stronghold of Benghazi on Tuesday after saying the likely end of Muammar Gaddafi’s rule was a lesson for Middle Eastern leaders who ignore demands of their people.
