Saudi Arabia urges its Citizens to Leave Syria immediately

The Saudi Foreign Affairs Ministry today urged its Saudi nationals to leave Syria as soon as possible and requested those wishing to travel there to cancel their plans because of the deteriorating security situation in that country. (more…)

Karami: Mikati is serious about resigning over STL funding

State Minister Ahmad Karami told Kuwaiti newspaper As-Seyassah in an interview published on Tuesday that “Prime Minister Najib Mikati is serious about resigning if the cabinet does not approve [Lebanon’s] funding for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.” (more…)

Iranian students storm British Embassy in Tehran


Dozens of hard-line Iranian students have stormed the British Embassy in Tehran, bringing down the British flag and throwing documents from windows.

The students clashed with anti-riot police and chanted “the Embassy of Britain should be taken over” and “death to England.” (more…)

Al-Qaeda affiliate claims responsibility for firing rocket into Israel

Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility for the rocket launched from south Lebanon into Israel , OTV reported on Tuesday .

It said in a statement that the rockets had “hit the targets ” adding it was the eighth rocket attack since the war between the Jewish state and Hezbollah ended in August 2006. (more…)

Hungary barred Iran FM’s plane from its airspace


Iranian authorities were seeking an explanation from Budapest for barring the overflight by Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, after expressing scepticism at the vague official explanation, they said.

Israel bombards Aita al Shaab in south Lebanon

Israel bombarded Aita al Shaab, a border village in south Lebanon after several rockets were fired from southern Lebanon and landed in northern Israel.

There were no casualties from the rockets that were fired from southern Lebanon according to Israeli reports , the first across the border since 2009. (more…)

Hezbollah rejects Suleiman’s propsal


Al Anbaa newspaper reported that President Michel Suleiman wants Wednesday’s scheduled cabinet session at the Baabda presidential palace to go smoothly and for this reason he proposed that Hezbollah’s two ministers not attend so that the cabinet could approve the funding for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
