UN appeals for humanitarian aid to Syria to feed 1.5 million people

The United Nations launched an appeal to the international community to send humanitarian aid to Syria. The aid is aimed at feeding 1.5 million Syrian people although, “for the time being, they don’t see the need” for humanitarian corridors or free zones. (more…)

Syrian dissidents to get help from Libya to oust Assad’s regime

Berri trying to dissuade Mikati from resigning over STL funding

Sources close to House Speaker Nabih Berri told al Sharq al Awsat newspaper in remarks published on Saturday , that “an atmosphere of openness prevailed during Friday’s meeting between Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the speaker and the discussions focused on the search for solutions and for an exit strategy that is suitable for everyone concerned.” (more…)

Moderate Islamists claim victory in Moroccan election

Verbal war escalates between Aoun, Mikati

Earlier today the cabinet session was boycotted  by the minsters  of the  Change and Reform bloc which is headed by MP Michel Aoun . Aoun later told OTV in a phone interview that his ministers boycotted the cabinet session in response to Mikati’s interview with LBC . (more…)

Turkey urges Syria to make choice as deadline passes

Syria’s failure to respond to Friday’s deadline for it to allow Arab League observers into the country to monitor the government’s response to civil unrest moves the country a step closer to economic sanctions from its neighbors, a senior Arab League diplomat said.
