MTV: Aoun opposes extension of Kahwaji”s term

MTV quoted its sources as saying that Free patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun is opposed to the extension of the term for army chief General Jean Kahwaji when he reaches the retirement age because he is a leading candidiate for the presidency of the republic and this poses serious threats for his ( Aoun’s) own chances.

The other reason Aoun is opposed to Kahwaji’s term extension according to MTV sources is because he is eying the position of army chief for his son-in-law general Chamel Roukoz who is currently the commander of Lebanese Commando Regiment, also known as Maghaweer.
