An explosion followed by heavy gunfire was heard late Saturday evening in West Beirut’s Cola area, near the Sports stadium, which is known as Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium.

Conflicting reports emerged over the incident according to LBCI. Some sources told LBCI that a grenade targeted a polling station, prompted people from inside the station to respond by firing gunshots, other sources said that a car passing by the area threw the bomb and fired gunshots.

An LAF patrol rushed to the scene to investigate the incidents, according to the report .
