The bomb was placed under the drivers seat of May Shidyak's Range Rover and triggered to explode through the ignition at around 6pm.

Shidyak is a renowned news anchor for LBC, famous for her political show titled "Nharkom Said", which translates to "Have a nice day".

Shidyak miraculously survived the bombing and is able to talk, although she sustained serious injuries to her arms and legs. She was initially taken to the Lady of Lebanon Hospital in Jounieh, until Prime Minister Fouad Siniora visited Shidyak to offer his support, and had Shidyak transferred to a hospital in Beirut.

The last journalist targeted was Samir Kassir on June 2, also a critic of Syria who also had a bomb placed under the seat of his car. Lebanon's authorities have yet to clamp down on the continuing saga of car bombings.
