In other words the principle of a " State within a state is not acceptable"
The following are highlights of what Gemayel said during the interview
"The points to be discussed in the dialogue have to do with the latest events. There are the points from the Arab initiatives in addition to the issue of Hezbollah's weapons and spreading state authority across all Lebanese soil."
" We have suffered from dialogues where the focus was on easy matters rather than solid core and essential issues."
" We insist on discussing the relations between Hezbollah and the state, because what we have witnessed was a futile, tragic and suicidal adventure.
" The opposition is punishing itself and its supporters. Does closing downtown Beirut and the airport only harm the majority?"
" We need to elect a president, to form a national-unity government and to adopt a new electoral law that guarantees true representation, especially for Christians. But all this is meaningless if we don't agree over the principle of building the state and that no party can prevail at the expense of the state."
" We in March 14 do not disagree with dialogue. I have contacted Dr Samir Geagea , the Lebanese Forces leader, and I will make additional contacts with all our allies to descide on the issues we will raise during the dialogue talks in Doha.
