A committee , headed by Mufti Malek al Shaar was formed to draft an agreement to end the violence and move the north forward. The committee has signed off on an 8 point agreement and submitted it to PM Siniora . Here is an unofficial list of the points agreed :
1- Stopping the fighting between the Sunnis and Alawites
2- Political understanding on how to calm down the situation
3- The return of all displaced people to their homes
4- Surveying the damage suffered
5 -Payment of compensation for damages suffered
6- Povide alternative accommodation for 400 family whose houses were completely burnt during the clashes
7- Final and comprehensive reconciliation including payment of compensation
8- iproviding allowance to people whose homes were damage for temporary living expenses while their houses are being rebuilt
Unfortunately there was violence too on Sunday. The car of MP Ahmad Fatfat , a key member of the majority alliance was attacked in Bakhoun with sticks and stones and gunfire forcing the car occupants to return the fire. 6 people were wounded in the attack according to Hezbollah's Al Manar TV.
