Jumblatt slams Lebanese officials who linked Arsal to Al-Qaeda

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt on Monday slammed Lebanese officials who accused Lebanon’s town of Arsal of harboring Al-Qaeda members by saying they did it to serve their own interests.

In his weekly editorial in the al-Anbaa magazine Jumblatt wrote: “The foolishness of those individuals did not take into account the sensitivity of the situation in the region when they said that al-Qaeda had entered the town of Arsal.” (more…)

Jumblatt : Urged the Druze of Syria not to engage in crackdown

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt accused the Syrian regime of president Bashar al Assad of trying to use the Druze of Syria in its brutal crackdown against the pro-democracy protesters .

Aoun, Jumblatt ministers boycott cabinet session

Minister of Information Walid al-Daouq said the cabinet session that was scheduled for Friday at the Baabda Presidential Palace was postponed on account of the quorum not being reached.

Daouq told reporters that a number of ministers did not attend the session “either because they are [abroad], or have health [issues], or for various other reasons.” (more…)

PSP, Future Movement agreed to coordinate at all levels
