Salafist Egyptian MP denies allegations of belly dancing second wife

Anwar al-Balkimi, who won election to the Egyptian parliament for the Salafi, or ultra-traditional, Nour Party, was expelled from parliament over the incident, in which he at first claimed he had been mugged.

On Thursday, a prominent belly-dancer and actress, Sama al-Masri, told a state-linked newspaper that she was Mr Balkimi’s secret wife. She claimed that after discovering from reports of the scandal that he was already married and had young children, she was seeking a divorce. (more…)

Red diesel scandal issue referred to General Prosecution

Judge Aouni Ramadan, the Lebanese Audit Bureau chief said on Monday that the bureau will pursue the issue of red diesel scandal in Lebanon until it is resolved.

He revealed to National News Agency (NNA) that the Bureau had referred a report on the case to the General Prosecution. (more…)

Berlusconi to stand trial in sex case
