Syrian soldiers beat and torture a suspected rebel to death [VIDEO]

A shocking video surfaced reportedly showing a group of Syrian soldiers beating a suspected rebel to death in the embattled city of Homs.

The gruesome footage, embedded below, shows the victim crying out in pain as his uniformed torturer viciously whips him with a rod.

A gang of fighters loyal to Bahar al-Assad gather around the man, laughing and taunting him, the video shows. (more…)

Bloody Sunday in Syria: Massacre continues as 45 killed in Homs

At least 45 women and children were killed in the Syrian city of Homs late Sunday, opposition activists said, hours after the U.N. special envoy to Syria met with the country’s president in an effort to reach a diplomatic solution to end the violence.

The killings occurred in the Homs neighborhood of Karm al Zaytoun, according to the Local Coordination Committees of Syria, an opposition activist network. (more…)
