Aridi says the cabinet is ignoring the interests of the people

Minister of Public Works and Transportation Ghazi Aridi said on Thursday during a press conference that “the current government is undermining the people’s interests.”

“The cabinet asked Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abu Faour to request the Public Works and Transportation Ministry cancel a number of projects that were previously approved on by the cabinet,” he said (more…)

Cabinet will not hold a meeting next week

Al Diyar newspaper reported that the cabinet will not hold a meeting next week because PM Nagib Mikati and his family are heading for vacation and many ministers will be out of the country on vacation next week. For this reason the next cabinet meeting will be held on August 2

Deal reached over STL clause , report

Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV reported on Wednesday that the ministerial committee charged with formulating the ministerial policy statement has completed its task , adding that a copy of the proposed draft has been distributed to the cabinet members.

Al-Manar also said that there are some indications that tonight’s meeting of the commission tasked to draft the ministerial statement might be the last. (more…)
