Al-Nahar newspaper has reported that Christoph Heusgen , German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s chief foreign and security adviser who was in Beirut yesterday on an unannounced visit told Lebanese officials that terrorist elements from from Arab counties have infiltrated the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. He called for the need to control the situation inside and outside the camps and the Beirut airport area . He expressed the readiness of the German government to provide the Lebanese government with the necessary equipment .
In Beirut Heusgen met Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Shami , Prime Minister Saad Hariri ,President Michel Suleiman and Speaker Nabih Berri

Heusgen will reportedly head to Damascus, Syria through the Masnaa border crossing after concluding his meetings in Lebanon.
