Hariri: Hezbollah committing crimes against Lebanon and Syria

Former Lebanese Prime Minister and Future Movement leader Saad Hariri criticised Hizbullah’s participation in the Syria conflict, saying it was “a crime against Lebanon and the Lebanese […] as well as Syria and its people”.

Mikati says Hariri Congratulated him on his ‘brave’ step

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Sunday that former PM Saad Hariri contacted him after his resignation to congratulate him on his “bold step.”

Mikati added that he has set his own conditions for accepting renomination to the premiership.

Mikati says is committed to holding elections on time

Lebanon Prime Minister Najib Mikati reiterated on Friday that the government is committed to the draft electoral law that it referred to parliament, but at the same time it is also committed to staging the elections before the term of the parliament expires and if no agreement is reached over a new electoral law then the existing 1960 law will be adopted for the 2013 elections. Patriarch Rai’s visit to Syria draws mixed reactions

Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai’s visit to Syria this Sunday drew mixed reactions in Lebanon. While president Michel Suleiman praised it and urged against politicizing it , March 14 General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soueid rejected it on the basis that it could subject the Christians of Syria to danger. A key Hezbollah official slammed former Lebanese PM and Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri’s political initiative on Friday by saying that the best electoral law that provides the best representation is the one based on proportionality .

Hamadeh denounces Al-Akhbar threats against his life

March 14 MP Marwan Hamadeh denounced on Monday the threats against his life by the Al-Akhbar , a pro Hezbollah led March 8 alliance newspaper .
