Frances Guy, Britain’s ambassador to Lebanon, has been criticised by Israel over a blog posting on the death of the controversial senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah on July 4. Lebanon declares Tuesday a national day of mourning

The Lebanese government declared Tuesday a national day of mourning due to the death of top Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah.

Lebanon mourns the death of Grand Ayatollah Fadlallah

Residents in the South of Lebanon are grieving over the loss of Lebanon’s leading Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.

Mosques are broadcasting Qur’an readings to mark the cleric’s passing, and black flags have been put up along main roads. Signs mourning his death are also posted at village entrances,the local media reported (more…)

Fadlallah’s health condition worsens

Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah’s health condition worsened . He has reportedly suffered from internal bleeding again on Saturday, medical sources told reporters Saturday.
