PSP sets conditions for abolition of political sectarianism

Progressive Socialist Party’s media representative Rami el Rayyes said his party is with the abolition of political sectarianism in Lebanon and in accordance with the Taef accord .
In an interview, “or TV”, he said “there are still some concerns within some communities about this issue and for this reason a minimum consensus should precede any dialogue on this issue, in addition a Senate should be established for preservation of rights of each of the sects and a new election should be established based on proportional representation

Berri will not act on political sectarianism on his own

Amal MP Ali Hassan Khalil told LBCI on Saturday that Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri “will not form the National Commission for the Abolition of Political Sectarianism on his own, but in a frame of understanding and cooperation among all political forces.”
In an interview with LBC TV network, Khalil stressed that “the issue of abolishing sectarianism does not aim to provoke anyone and is not against anyone,” Khalil added.
Khalil added that Berri’s call for abolishing political sectarianism came after a similar call made previously by President Michel Suleiman.
