Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Salim Sayegh said the response to any Israeli aggression is the responsibility of the Lebanese state and the people together.
In an interview with Future TV Sayegh said:” I want Lebanon to always win, but what good will it be if Lebanon disappears along with Israel ?”
Sayegh continued: “Everyone should know where we are heading , because we can not engage in any battle if we’re not sure of victory.”
Sayegh concluded, “This is precisely why we need a defense strategy.”
Hezbollah is reportedly opposed to the idea of discussing the defense strategy issue during the national dialogue talks

State Minister Michel Pharaon said following a meeting of Christian March 14 cabinet ministers at his residence that the” Ministerial Statement contains several positive points, but at the same time raised many questions for which we need answers”
“The Ministerial Statement should have confirmed that the Shebaa Farms is Lebanese territory,” he said adding that “international community considers this area a Syrian territory.”
The meeting was attended by Labor Minister Boutros Harb, Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar, Information Minister Tarek Mitri, Social Affairs Minister Salim Sayegh, State Minister Jean Ogassapian and Culture Minister Salim Wardeh
Pharaon stressed the Christian ministers’ support for Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
