Sfeir: STL should continue its work

In an interview with Al-Ousbou al-Arabi magazine to be published Friday, Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir warned that Lebanon and the entire Middle East were in danger.

STL: Sfeir says justice must take its course

Commenting on the Hezbollah-led campaign against the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) , Maronite Patriarch Boutros Nasrallah Sfeir said on Sunday: Even if the indictment may cause some repercussions in the local arena, justice is justice and must take its course.”

Sfeir: Lebanon should be for all sects

Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir told Al-Jazeera television on Saturday: “If we want to put an end to political assassinations in Lebanon then the international tribunal should issue its indictment and be specific naming those who committed the crime.”

Sfeir disgusted with the situation in Lebanon

Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir has reportedly expressed to Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh his “disgust” with the situation in Lebanon, according to the As Safir report published on Saturday .

Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir on Sunday said he is concerned about the bloody street battles which broke out earlier this week between Hezbollah and Al Ahbash members.

Sfeir is in Kesrouan

Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir kicked off his tour in Mount Lebanon’s Kesrouan district on Sunday, stopping at the Saydet Kawwala church in Oqaibe, MTV reported.

A reception was held in his honor in Oqaibe.

Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir said Sunday that the general situation in Lebanon is worrying and makes the Lebanese wonder what the future holds for them.

Sfeir to be awarded today the Hrawi 2010 prize

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and Prime Minister Saad Hariri held a closed meeting on Friday with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir in Bkirki, according to National News Agency .

The 10-minute meeting came ahead of a ceremony to confer on Sfeir the former President Elias Hrawi Award for 2010, the NNA reported. (more…)
