An Iraqi journalist in Paris threw a shoe at the journalist who did the same to U.S. President George W. Bush one year earlier in Baghdad.
In December 2008, Muntadar al-Zaidi, a journalist with al-Baghdadia television station, threw two shoes at the visiting American president, saying it was a “farewell kiss” to the American “dog.”
An Iraqi journalist at a Paris news conference Tuesday accused Zaidi of working with dictators, shouting “here’s another for you” in Arabic. A scuffle ensued, though neither was injured, al-Arabiya reports.
The journalist, Seif al-Khayat, told the Voices of Iraq news agency that he felt dishonored by Zaidi’s actions.
