Man arrested in White House shooting probe

An Idaho man wanted in connection with a White House shooting incident was arrested Wednesday in western Pennsylvania, police and the U.S. Secret Service announced.

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, who was detained by Pennsylvania State Police, was allegedly involved in a shooting Friday night that may be responsible for two bullets found at the White House, according to the Secret Service. (more…)

White House calls for ‘immediate end’ to Syria violence

The White House significantly toughened its stance on Syria on Friday, calling for an “immediate end to brutality and violence” and warning President Bashar al-Assad was leading his nation on a “dangerous path.”

Secret Service agents could be fired for White House breach

US Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan told a Congressional committee Thursday morning that the agents who admitted the Arab American couple Tareq and Michaele Salahi through a White House checkpoint at last week’s state dinner have been placed on administrative leave and could lose their jobs.
