A Wiam Wahab supporter was killed by a Jumblatt supporter

Jad Baeeny , one of the supportes of former Minister Wiam Wahab died from his wounds Saturday evening after he was shot by Ayman al Fatayri, one of MP Walid Jumblatt’s supporters , LBC reported Saturday evening.

According to the report Bashar and his brother Jad Baeeny and Kifah Hani , all supporters of Wiam Wahab had a personal dispute with a restaurant owner in Bakaata, Shouf region (more…)

Wahhab’s bodyguard charged with spying for Israel, report

The personal bodyguard of former minister Wiam Wahhab has been charged by Judge Saq Saqr of the Lebanese military court with collaborating with Israel, including participating directly and indirectly in assassinations against Hezbollah fighters according to report on Thursday by al-Akhbar newspaper. Wahab launches another attack against STL

During an interview with Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV on Saturday, former minister Wiam Wahab called on Prime Minister Saad Hariri and his government to stop dealing with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

“Anyone who deals with the outcome of the court (case) by pointing his arrow at Hezbollah will be considered an Israeli,” Wahab threatened. (more…)

Arslan’s party refuses to comment on Choueifat incident

The media office of the Lebanese Democratic Party ( which is headed by MP Talal Arslan ) refused to respond to comments made about the Choueifat incident. The party said what happened was a personal and isolated incident and has nothing to do with the party .

Wahab: Jumblatt will visit Syria because he is courageous

As expected PSP leader MP Walid Jumblatt was invited for lunch by former minister Wiam Wahab at his residence in al-Jahiliyeh. Jumblatt was asked about the timing of his visit to Syria and his answer was he was “waiting for the right moment for him and the Syrian leadership .”
Wahab, a pro-Syrian politician told reporters : Jumblatt will visit Syria because he is courageous
Jumblatt said his lunch with Wahab is part of his reconciliation efforts in the mountains. He will also be meeting with FPM leader Michel Aoun at his residence soon and Hezbollah representatives this afternoon in Chouifat, where the largest battle took place in May 2008 between Hezbollah and the Druze
Several politicians attended the lunch gathering including representatives of Amal, Free Patriotic Movement, and Hezbollah
Wahab confirmed that Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is the one coordinating Jumblatt’s visit

Al Manar: Jumblatt’s visit to Syria not finalized yet

Al Manar sources reported that MP Walid Jumblatt’s visit to Syria has not been finalized yet and denied that Lebanese Minister of Public Works Ghazi Aridi has visited Syria recently in connection with Jumblatt’s planned visit .
In a related development the Progressive socialist Party leader told al Manar that his planned lunch with former minister Wiam Wahab was to erase the residues of May 7 . Jumblatt said he also intends to call general Michel Aoun to arrange for a meeting at Rabiyah.
On May 7 , 2008 Hezbollah occupied west Beirut and tried but failed to occupy the Druze stronghold of mount Lebanon. Wahab during that period sided with Hezbollah , while the other Druze leader Talal Arslan called for Druze unity

Jumblatt , Wahab to have lunch together this Sunday

Central News Agency CNA, has reported that PSP leader MP Walid Jumblatt was invited for lunch this coming Sunday by former minister Wiam Wahab at his home town of al Jahiliah in the Shouf region of Mt Lebanon. CNA sources stressed that this meeting has no connection with Jumblatt’s upcoming visit to Syria, but comes as part of Jumblatt’s effort to meet with his former foes to unite the Druze community.
