Hezbollah’s Al Manar TV reported that PSP leader MP Walid Jumblatt will hold a press conference at 11:00 am Thursday at his residence in Clemenceau following his return from Damascus after meeting with Syrian president Bashar al Assad.

Al Manar added that Jumblatt met privately with Assad.

Hezbollah praises Assad -Jumblatt meeting

Hezbollah media officer Ibrahim al-Moussawi told AFP on Wednesday that his party welcomes the meeting between the Progressive Socialist Party leader and the Syrian President.

“This strengthens Lebanon’s position in the face of Israeli aggression,” Moussawi added.

Hezbollah has played a mediating role in Nasrallah and Jumblatt’s rapprochement, he also said.
