Jumblatt’s car brakes failed on his way back from Syria

jumblatt 040110As Safir has reported that after his meeting with Syrian president Bashar al Assad progressive Socialist party leader MP Walid Jumblatt drove his car on the way back as Hezbollah Secretary-General’s Political Assistant Hussein Khalil occupied the front passenger seat and Wafiq Safa, Head of Hezbollah’s Coordination and Liaison Committee occupied a rear seat.

Everything reporotedly was going fine until Jumblatt’s motorcade passed Aley Roundabout and reached the outskirts of the al-Kahale village to face what was not expected: the brakes of his armored car failed.

As the car moved along the downhill road, the brakes status deteriorated requiring Jumblatt to slam his foot on the brakes “more than 10 times” for a minimum control over the vehicle until it finally reached Beirut.

“Everything was fine, but the downhill road from Kahale to Beirut was not fine… It was a perilous experience that we overcame,” Jumblatt told As Safir.

Jumblatt told as safir that he wants to meet with Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to thank him for paving the road for his Damascus visit .

Jumblatt feels his trip to Damascus will enhance stability in Lebanon . On Saturday he met with a financial delegation from Kuwait at his residence in Mukhtara al El Shouf . He reportedly told the delegation that “Lebanon is heading ahead with steady steps toward stability… And there are major opportunities for investment in various sectors.”

Thank god he made it otherwise the press would have blamed it on Syria which we dont need right now as Lebanon is moving forward and onward. let’s all pray for a bright and prosperous future for our lebanon.

  • Tarie Al Fanarie

Oh Tony don’t be so naive the Syrians would be happy to have gone. Why is it just his car that did that? what about the other cars? It makes you wander if it was truly Syrian agents messing up his brakes so its purely blamed on that. And they will get away with it. Remember the one tire incident on the bus that had Iranians visiters where it blow up and killed 12 people. Gosh those tires are so effective we can use them against israel and kill at least 4 people per tire. We can get rid of the israel nation lol. They Syrians hate jumblatt now as ever do not mind the photo ops similing with Assad. Assad have no friends thats his mentality and his politics. If Iran was not pouring its heart and soul into Syria. Syria would kick hesbollah like an old tire. I am glad to see him made it with his buddies. Cause press would blame Syria and hezbollah would blame of course israel.

The writing is on the wall for this “bandouq”. Would any one in his sane mind act like this guy !!!!
Can anyone tell when he is telling the truth or not and simply why would syria and assad want to continue dealing with “yakird”, knowing he does not have any morals, dignity or standing on any issue. he is becoming like a mop where he is constantly cleaning after himself and his statment, not because he is ignorant, but because he is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid.
He escaped this time, but watch and give him few more days before he lashes on with another barrage of insults accusation on syria, ziballah, israel, his mother, his son (who knows) accusing them of a murder attempt

  • Pot head

So fanarie, you are saying that the Syrian technological skills are so great that they can time the break to go out when he is Lebanon. You can’t just say any mechanical things could fail and we glad he made it safe? You have to Blame everything on syria?

  • Tony A

lol thanks for your words of wisdom my friend. a chicken with half a brain knows that. all i’m saying is that we don’t need that right now cos we’re trying to calm things down and i’m sure the Syrians know that so for this to happen will not be a good thing.

as for Michel, a progressive person should be respected. if he wants to move forward and make new alliances, why are you against peace. did bashar kill kamal jumblatt? No. i’m beginning to sound like i’m pro-syrian but i’m not. i’m absolutely and unequivocally without any arguments pro-peace and progress. to have so much hate for someone is the cause of all the lebanese problems. wallaw shoo ibti’i7doo.

you guys sound like broken records cos you keep remembering the past when you should be looking forward to a happy future and if someone is trying to forgive the past and move on give the guy a chance. it was his dad that got murdered not yours and if he wants to be a bigger person and forgive after many years of hate why are you preventing it from happening?

there are new agreements and plans being implemented here so why are you all chanting NO NO NO!!

let’s give these people some room to breathe and let the peace process have time to unfold. if anything happens then let’s get back to the tables with our leaders and demand a new round of negotiations until all sides agree.

i love lebanon and i love peace so why don’t we stop calling someone who is trying to move forward a chance to see what he will do.

all these guys from gaegea to jumblatt played dirty during the civil war but let me remind you guys, it’s called war and the weak will die.

this is a new era where unity is in the air and the opening of the embassies is a good sign. these things take time so i ask you lebanese people if you have something positive to bring to your leaders bring it but to just criticise and remember the past is booooooooooorrrrrrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!

    long live lebanon

  • Ana

Looks to me that Assad if nothing else, was giving him a message.

  • Jamil

Are you all sure this car incident was a FACT not just looking for attention and sympathy to convince that someone is after HIM? go figure

  • Constantin

What a “coincidence”?!!! Or is it one?

  • george haddad

I think bashar is saying ya Kird heik Sar Fiek. Next time my agents will do a better job on your brakes. Oops i just pressed the brakes and my car blow up. Well lets just blame the Mossad for it. We blame all Lebanon problems on them and all the killings why not this one. Next time stay in lebanon otherwise you won’t be so lucky after all.

  • TABET

Tony I agree fully with you but dont waste your time replying. Most of the people that post on this web site are obviously obssessed with the past political and racial incidents that blind them from common logic and the forward thinking that Lebanon desperately needs. One side blames Syria for everything from assassinations to probably global warming and the other accuses Israeli the same way. Its either black or white they fail to realise that so many deals, assassination plots and agreements are made between all of these so called enemies at the expense of the innocent laymen. Politics is a very grey area, not black or white and nothing is usually as easily explained as the syrians did it or the israelis were behind it. For god sakes people when are you going to realize that in politics and its associated power play nothing is every as straight forward as it seems.

  • tarie al fanarie

Yes Pot head i blame pretty much everything on Syria. Yes the syrian got very sophisticated where they many to kill Imad Mugeniah and blame on the israelis? after all the level of technology used to kill Hariri and his associates was peace of art work. Or 30 some yrs of ruling where no one can go to the bathroom withouth asking their permissions. What make you think they like Walid now even when he was supporting they were targeting him. Why did they target Marwan Hamade? and many others? everyone from your side blames israel all the times. so blaming syria is not natural for you Pot Head. By the way change the name otherwise no one will take seriously since you’re were loaded on pots when you wrote here lol.

  • Michael

It s allways the same critics syria did this Israël did that . How would Lebanon move foward ? We should Starr working for the future of our Country finding solutions of peace and the well being of our people . So many poor lebanese who CAN t make it while so many look at them and do nothing .All we hear about is money war politics ect…. Why don t we talk about problems such as pauverty ecology health care …. Hope one day …..

  • TABET

Well said Michael, I agree 100%.

  • Louay Faour

    i love you!!!!!

  • Louay Faour

GIVE IT A REST U HATERS, IT WAS A LOUSY FAULT IN THE CAR BRAKE !!!

  • Fadi Abboud

Some people are biased and will defend Hezbollah and its allies at all costs.. others are open to logic and theory and common sense..

  • Michael

Let s work to defend Lebanon and our borders from all intruders . We are a strong people and unity between all parties Will make us stronger instead of blaming who is behind a car misfunctions . Lebanon for all of us christians muslims druze ect . My religion is Lebanon .My blood is Lebanon .

  • archoug

if Mr. jumblatt is still driving his 1967 MG (The red one) it’s normal for the brakes to fail . 30 years ago I worked on the brakes of that car.OK I know what happened. he pushed on the gas instead of the brake .or was he driving a Toyota ? cause Toyota is having problem with the gas pedal . fact is ,if you drive down hill at high speed, the brakes on the car will fail due to over heating of the brake system . has noting to do with politic.it a driver error.he made up the story for attention .
