Kahwaji : ‘Faith in Lebanon won’t be shaken’

The Lebanese army chief Gen. Jean Kahwaji was chosen “Best Leader of a State Institutions in 2010″ by the Lebanese Council for Human Resources Experts.

During a ceremony at the army compound in Jounieh in his honor on Thursday Kahwaji said that Israel and terrorism were awaiting for instability in the country but vowed that “faith in Lebanon won’t be shaken.”

“As long as there is an army that is aware of its responsibilities and a united people that backs it, there is no fear on the future of the nation no matter how strong dangers and challenges were,” Kahwaji said.

I think the lebanese army chief would merit this recognition more convincingly if at least the trucks of weapons pouring into lebanon are controlled. What kind of institutions we have where still a militia detain more poiwer and more weapon than our lebanese army. in lebanon we give recognition to everybody ans the general is not an exception, but unfortunately we dont ask for results.

Are they preparing us for the next president? enough of generals to presidents. We need a civil society not a military society

Him like many army generals we’ve had have ensured safety throughout all of Lebanon and allowed us to build trust in them.

He doesn’t need to be the next president (which is still years away), unless another consensus president is needed.

The LAF and Hezballah CO-OPERATE AND WORK TOGETHER PEOPLE !!!
It’s something everyone is trying to deny.. believe me, when Hezballah is in control of security in a certain place, you realise less crimes or fights go on- and if anyone’s gonna talk about the Dahyeh or Baalbak, they’re all family issues..

Hezballah respects ALL religions and only has good intentions for Lebanon, which I KNOW may seem the other way round seeming as they keep arming themselves and use to cause a havoc, but believe me people, israel is right under us, ANYTHING could happen God forbid..

God save the army, the resistance, the people, the president, and Lebanon

We have fought many years a civil war where militias was in control of security. This time has ended. It is not acceptable to live in a civilized country where militia has a security and defence role. I dont trust hizbolla even though other lebaneses trust this party. I trust only the legal instituions. If the lebaneses want to live in stable and civiliuzed country thay have to stick to the legal instituions. Otherwise, we will have the current situation of divisions and open our conutry for recurrent wars and crimes.
