Report: 5000 Hezbollah fighters along the Lebanese-Israeli borders

Hezbollah “was said to have deployed up to 5,000 fighters along the Lebanese border with Israel.” US newspaper , The World Tribune reported on Monday.

A parade by the Iranian and Syrian backed Hezbollah militants

According to WT, “the Israeli military has collected evidence of a massive Hezbollah operational presence in Shiite villages along the Israeli-Lebanon border.”

The party operatives, engaged mostly in reconnaissance, “were said to be based in homes, schools and hospitals,” the daily added.

According to a report published in Israeli newspaper Haaretz on July 7, Hezbollah has an arsenal of some 40,000 short and medium range rockets stored in towns and villages south of the Litani River, with many of the weapons stored in private houses in South Lebanon towns bordering Israel.

Haaretz quoted Israel Defense Forces Colonel Ronen Merli as saying” Hezbollah also has hundreds of longer range M-600 rockets capable of striking major Israeli cities.”

“Hezbollah is establishing itself with increasing strength in the villages,” Merli said. “Every day they are engaged in digging, building and laying communications infrastructure to prepare themselves for war.”

During an interview with Al-Manar television on July 9, Hezbollah MP Walid Succariyeh said the Israel’s reports on Hezbollah’s arms depots in South Lebanon “could only be believed by naive people.

“ The report is a lie fabricated by Israel,” the MP said, adding that Tel Aviv will not likely attack Lebanon “because it is aware it will be defeated.”

And who is financing this army. While their people claim poverty, begging on the streets, not paying electricity, yet have their own communication systems, security apparatus and funds to buy sophisticated arms. h/a is nothing but a mole serving the interest of israel by constantly disturbing the peace in Lebanon. How can any one argue that they are not a state within a state!!! They have their own dialogue with assad/ahmadinajad.. making their own deals on how to destroy lebanon. Now they are showing their clear intent on what they are planning for the future: create instability in the country, force a compromise and get the upper hand. Isn’t what they have done in the past!!! History indicate that their forced acceptance is gaining ground by their planned actions. Our Lebanese government and citizen should wake up and act. I am surprised at the h/a ministers/representatives that have loyalty and respect for syria and iran and push to defend them. IS THIS A CLUE to where we are heading as a country!!!

And how are these 5,000 fighters going to fight F-16 fighter planes that break can break sound barriers?? Dumb puppets are still listening to their master living in Iran! This is really a good plan by the Persian monkeys, first attack the unifil to drive them out of the south, then kidnap another Jew, and then declare war on Israel by shooting 70 year old rocket technology.

So if we dont have strong ties with Syria and Iran…who do we have ties with?

America and Israel are puppets for each other…they use each other for whatever suits their purpose.

Israel doesn’t want peace with Lebanon – and if you think they do – you are sadly mistaken. The Zionists believe Lebanon is a part of “Greater Israel” and they wont rest until Lebanon falls under this title again.

ANYONE who allies himself with Israel (And many of our politicians today have done that in the past, and still today) Should be deemed a traitor.

When Elias el Murr went to the USA – he admitted himself that the USA will NEVER give Lebanon the weapons it needs to defend itself – because this will upset Israel.

When you support Israel or America – you are working against Lebanon. Because of that stupid ruling in Israel’s favour – we lost hundreds of our soliders fighting in Nahr el Bared, because they were more armed then our army was!! Heck – we had helicopters dropping bombs by hand!!!

Since this is the case, and since you don’t want Syria or Iran who do you suggest should help Lebanon? Saudi Arabia? Jordan? Egypt? When their fellow Muslims are dying in Gaza and Iraq and elsewhere they are silent, they say and do NOTHING. Can you trust them??

One thing you fail to understand is that the entire world knows that Hizbollah controls controls Lebanon, and since on a regular basis Hassan Nasrallah goes on TV shouting “Al mawt li Amrica, al mawt li Israil.” Death to the Israel and the US, you think the USA or any other country will give heavy weaponery to the Lebanese state (or lack off)? Thank your lucky stars for what the US already gave you.

blablabla all you care about is your “fellow muslims” in gaza think about your country before thinking about any other. The most you could do Peter is make a post or two about it and then what? You speak that the army is not well equiped to fight israeli forces… well i wonder whose fault that is???? Isn’t it the fault of your beloved ally who exploited Lebanon? Why should it be the Islamic resistance not the lebanese resistance? I could remember Mr. Nasrallah reiterating these words in his famous speech when he claimed his ability to target anything within the mediteranian… How can you as a “Lebanese” citizen accept an independent operation room free from your country’s governmental and military opinion? I think you should wake up to the facts… Hezbollah has a risk factor of destroying the country with their decisions as much as those bloodthirsty zionists have. This is not a country… This is CHAOS

Mario, where was the Lebanese Government before Israel invaded South Lebanon in 1978 and again in 1982??

Where was the Lebanese Gov’t when people like Imam Moussa Sadr was asking the gov’t to help the Shiia in the South?? To defend against israeli attacks and to give schools and hospitals??

They did NOTHING. Back then, the Shiaa were treated like garbage, they didnt have any influence in the country and nobody listened to them.

Because the Lebanese Gov’t left the South weak, Israel could invade over and over and over anytime they want. Maybe you don’t care if you are living in the North or somewhere else, but why should the people of the South have to take that?? They had every right to defend their homes, families, etc when the Gov’t does not fulfill this duty for them.

And like I said before…the Israeli invasions, plus the attacks on Muslims by people from the SLA, Ouwet and Kataeb are the sole reaons for the creation of Hizballah. Don’t forget Sabra and Shatilla and the “Black Saturday Massacre” where Muslims were killed in the streets just because their ID said Muslim. Look at the actions of yourselves before you blame others.

And Adam if you think that 99.9% of Israelis want peace with Lebanon you are sadly mistaken. In the last war many Israelis wanted Israel to Nuke Lebanon once and for all. It is true some want to live in peace with us….but not as much as you say. And the others that want to live in peace with us, want this according to their rules, where we obey their orders and wishes.

Peter there were no gov’t in 1978 and 1982. The gov’t didn’t even help its own people. Plus the army was divided among sectarian parties. So to say it would help the shiites yes you’re right? but now we have what you m-call a gov’t and it doesn’t anything either. As far killing muslims by the SLA, 60 % of the SLA were shiites. So stop saying it because there more muslims in the SLA then christians. For your information the Amal Movement of Imam Moussa AL Sadar enjoyed in its early days good relationship with the phalangist then. So review your history before you start leveling accusations. It was until Imam Moussa Sadr Amal Movement changed to the leftist side. And Sabr and Shatilla the elements that used extreme violance where Shiites too against palestinians and of course christians too. I was sick to my stomach hearing and seeing the massacres on TV and any reasonable person would. But AL Saaqa brigade destoryed Damour and killed many people there and raped women and killed them and children too. The PLO and leftist attacked christians in the North and raped women and dragged little girls to their camps. These all happened before Sabra and Shatilah massacres. What about Jumblat clan just in one day killed more than 200 christians in the Chouf after hearing of the killing of Kamal Jumblatt. Yes there were killing on both sides. Its amazing that your name is Peter if that’s what your name is and you’re siding with the muslims more than christians. It don’t matter i am not religious anyway. But I am tired of hearing people still from the past blame the Christians phalangist for the attack on the palestinians bus and causing the civil war. It was the palestinians who started it by going thru a street where wedding taking place and they tried to run their cars thru. Arafat had a meeting just before all the fightings started with Henry Kissinger who the later convinced him of taking over lebanon. Arafat used to say the road to palestine is thru Jounieh. So shut the hell up because you don’t anything about the history of the war and how it started. Christians and muslimes were both guilty of crimes against each other. But we’re lebanese in our land and the palestinians challenged us to take over our land. The gov’t did not even intervene to save the land let alone save the shiites. But i say in the end you sound more shiite than a Peter..

George…from what I know, many of the attacks against Christians, happened because of Christian attacks against Muslims.

Lets be honest, The Christians didn’t want the Muslims to become a Majority in Lebanon and didnt want them to have more power then Christians, so they executed them in cold blood sometimes, which made the Muslims revenge these attacks.

Everyone says Damour – yet they ignore the Muslims who were killed right before Damour Happened.

I am not taking the side of one over another – but in my view when a person calls himself a Christian and they go out and execute little children, elderly people – or ANYONE….this is not the way of Christ.

& Like I said in another post, I know the view of many from Ouwett and Kataeb and they dont want Muslims to have power in Lebanon because they want Lebanon for Christians only, and this is a view of hatred/racism which has no place in Christianity and should have no place in Lebanon.

Peter like I said both sides were guilty of killing. But it was the Palestinians who started the fight. After all they were convinced by Henry Kissinger to take over Lebanon. It was not a simple fight and Arafat had big goals in mind just he tried to accomplish it in Jordan. But King Hussein as we all know put him in his place. In our case Arafat was able to split lebanon into sectarians lines and leftist vs rightist. Yes Christians should behalf as Angels as everyone would preceive them. But when you are tested so many times and tempted to kill then the door is wide open. That’s not to say frankly that the christians in Lebanon were angels. Hardly the case and they were mean as anyone else. But you keep mentioning about the numbers. Well the Christians would say to that at the time. We’re the only country at the time in the middle east where christians were somewhat in control. Everywhere around were controlled by muslims. And lebanon was influenced by those countries anyway. I remember when Abd AL Nassar died, my God the people went crazy and it was very scary. Nassarites movement still exists to this day. What about the Syrian Baath Party and even Saddam had supporters in Iraqi Baath Party. And many more parties and you expect christians not to fear them? come one dude? what about the 24th of October Movement and Murabeitoun and many groups were created by Palestinians themselves. Give us a break we’re minorities and were scared and we needed to fight with all we got. Even al Mustaqbal movement was against Christians back then. What christians did in the camps is not what God wanted to see. But Muslims are God people so what makes them and just because different religions does that mean they were allowed to kill then? killing is ugly no matter who you look at it. However i am more comfortable now with co-existance between christians and muslimes more than ever before. But there are still lots of frictions for sure. But one thing for sure in the past the shiites were more closely aligned with christians then any other muslim religion in Lebanon. There were lots of respect between Imam Moussa AL Sadr and the christians back then. I take it that’s why Ghaddafi didn’t like the directions he was going.

Well Peter I also recall the fatwa that was erected over the communists who were fighting in the south the Israelis too. (Each person who kills a communist deserves a key to heaven) why didn’t the Islamic resistance lend a hand to those brave fighters if their first goal was to protect the south? Why can’t anybody now get a copy of risalat al moustadaafin which was released on the date of creation of Hezbollah? You might be right about the history of Shiites in Lebanon, but does that mean they can bully the entire country around? I don’t think so! You sound like a Jew defending his actions towards Palestinians by reiterating the story of the holocaust to the world lol. History is the past the Lebanese people are stuck in the shadows of their past they do not know how to live the present and plan their future. Peter my friend I am not religiously biased against Hezbollah for a sole reason that I’m an Atheist! I evaluate everything with reason. You cannot blame the government during the civil war because there was no government your lack of trust in your country’s military forces and lack of support shows nothing other than your dedication for a political agenda which stretches more than the preservation of the country as a whole and the Lebanese interest as a whole you support the exclusivity of a sect over all others and I think that this is the prime reason our country is in a big mess so you my friend, look at the actions of yourselves before you blame others.

whether its The US, Iran, Syria or Israeli that has instigated this current predicament in Lebanon its funny but with out realising it you all have all fallen into the oldest trick in the book Divide and Conquer, you’re helping all these stupid countries dictate your feelings towards your fellow country men. Damn shame that in Lebanon we are ALL puppets for various countries even if we don’t really want to believe it. And we are playing right into their hands like imbeciles.

Those 70yrs old rockets scared israeli shitless in 2006, don’t disparage them…

Peter, you uttered my own thoughts exactly, perhaps Iran and Syria have their ulterior motives, granted, but AT LEAST their ulterior motives can coexist with a Lebanon ruled by Lebanese, while Amrika and Israel want a Lebanon ruled directly from Washington and Tel Aviv…

…so Lebanese have no choice really…only alliance with Iran and Syria can preserve their independence.
