Zahra : All Lebanon should be arms, millitia free

Lebanese Forces bloc MP Antoine Zahra told the Voice of Lebanon (VOL) on Thursday that all Lebanese regions must be arms an militia free, and not just Beirut.

“It’s time for the Lebanese state to take quick measures to announce Beirut a weapons and militia free city,” the March general-secretariat said in a statement following its weekly meeting.

All the comments comes after clashes broke out in the Beirut neighborhood of Bourj Abi Haidar on Tuesday between supporters of the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects—also known as Al-Ahbash—and Hezbollah, leading to the death of three people, including Hezbollah official Mohammad Fawwaz.

“The [clear and visible] presence of Hezbollah’s armed members proves that there is a party capable of [taking it to the streets], while [its] arms should be put under state control,” Zahra said.

He also said that “no one knows whether or not the arms used in the Bourj Abi Haidar clashes were confiscated.”

During an Iftar last night MP Saad Hariri, stressed that the widespread of weapons in every street and neighborhood is not acceptable anymore.”

    lebanon is opening new doors to new outlooks to new horizons to a new people to a new thought process that will end the cyle of viciousness that has besieged this country for decades.

    a new era is dawning on lebanon that will bring in new laws and a new level of thinking that will help eradicate our streets from thugs, gangs, major groups that still think its okay to walk around with guns in your cars like as if talking has lost its power kinda like texting has taken over the western world to the point that people dont talk to each other anymore.

    i sit there texting my buddy for 5 minutes and then i pick up the phone to call him and he doesnt answer. he actually texts me to tell me he’s with his family. whats worse, sitting with your family texting for 20 minutes or talking on the phone for 2 minutes and getting everythng you wanna say during that time.

    lebanon’s guns have become the texts. lebanese have forgotten what its like to compromise and to actually debate issues in a civilised manner.

    a parking spot, 2 cars, a mosque.

    i want the parking spot to pray.

    no, i want the parkng spot to pray.

    okay lets draw for it. bang bang bang bang. 4 dead.

    my question is did anyone end up praying that day??

    we need laws now and these debates are coming exactly at the right time.

    dear fed up,

    Gun control is only for the those who obey the law not for the hoods who brandish them at the drop of a hat.

    Every citizen should be able to carry weapons and openly that way the hoods know you can respond to their action.

    Really no one should have to carry a weapon, but that is too late because one group won’t give them up and the rest can’t take them away.

    Gun control Laws are for countries that can enforce its laws,and not for countries where its leaders are the first to break the law.

    Gun control laws strip the citizenry of it’s means of protecting itself against tyrannical governments.

    Once the citizens are disarmed, the tyrants can have their way with them.

    The examples I gave of Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao are proof of such.

    it was revealed not long ago that all militias to surrenders their weapons to the army’s the question here why hezbollah weapons is not included when MR Jamil el sayed appeared on al manar and otv he stated that he disarmed all the militias and criticized DR SAMIR JEAJEA now what about AMALS arms again not only to me but every body else that’s double standard-should that be the case in term of hzl claims its for the use against Israel but Israel not in Beirut ore al jabal unless their direction of Israel have changed can MR JAMIL ELSAYYED or any representative give us the right answers please am not trying to offend any body but whats fair is fair to all
